This page explains how to create skill pages for Diablo II skills in the wiki for the seven classes.

The above page displays how a standard skill page should look.

[edit] The basics

Every skill page contains several sections that look the same on all pages.

  • A right-aligned image of the skill tab with the skill in question highlighted.
  • Template:Infobox Skills (Diablo II) with the appropriate date filled out.
  • A description section explaining in detail what the skill does.
  • A lore section containing the official text from the Blizzard manual.
  • A skill navbox, linking to the appropriate skills of the same class.

Each article may also include the following sections:

  • A tips section, giving tips to the player on how to best use the skill.
  • A reference section, most commonly referencing the Diablo II manual.

[edit] Things to note

If a skill is passive, the mana cost field and damage field is not displayed. Similarly, if no synergies exist, the template will change accordingly.

VariableA, B etc. are modifiable to represent any piece if text: duration, number of hits, attack rating bonus etc.

[edit] Description

This section contains regular text explaining what the skill does. It can either be copied from Arreat Summit or written by yourself, either works. It should be neutral in view and not written in first-person.

[edit] Lore

This section contains an excerpt of the skill as described in the offical manual provided by Blizzard. This text is available for copy&paste from Arreat Summit if you do not possess the manual or do not wish to type it out manually. Make sure you get the appropriate paragraph, it's usually the first one for any given skill.

[edit] Navbox

Depending on the skill, one out of seven navboxes is to be included at the very bottom. Copy and paste the appropriate row into your skill page.

The necessary categories are included in the navboxes, so no need to mess with manual categories for skills pages.
