From Diablo Wiki
Diablo, the Lord of Terror, is the main antagonist and title character in the Diablo franchise. He is one of the Prime Evils, the three most powerful demons in Hell, and is one of the most prominent characters both in the games and in the books based on the Diablo series. The deity Dialon, the spirit of Determination of the church of the Truine, is in reality Diablo.
Diablo is one of Three; a Prime Evil, alongside his brothers Baal and Mephisto. Together they rule over Hell. Though commonly called brothers, both by others and by themselves, there is nothing to suggest that anything gave birth to Diablo or his brothers, they seem to have existed forever, or as long as the Universe at least. They have been at war with Heaven ever since the beginning of time, with neither side ever gaining the upper hand for long. This endless stalemate eventually tired the Lesser Evils Andariel, Azmodan, Belial and Duriel. They overthrew the three Prime Evils and banished them to Sanctuary, the human world. There they were hunted down by an order of mages called the Horadrim, an alliance of all mage clans, who had been united against the Three by order of the archangel Tyrael. Eventually, the Three were captured and imprisoned within three separate soulstones, and hidden from the world. Diablo was buried beneath the earth in Westmarch under the Tristram Cathedral The Horadrim set themselves to gaurd the prison, but hundreds of years passed and they forgot their charge. The Horadim disbanded, and when Diablo's presence was finally forgotten, he started to reach out to the world outside, which is where the story of Diablo I starts.
- Not sure where to start?
- Find out more about the wiki on the Help:Contents page.
- If you are new to wikis, we recommend you either go to our forum for help, or look around Wikipedia's Help pages. Although the pages may be hard to grasp at times, they are usually very informative, and almost everything outlined and explained over at Wikipedia works in our wiki as well.
- Adding content
- The wiki needs an article on every subject related to Diablo, so there's no shortage of possible pages to create. Choose whatever you consider to be the most fun topic. If you enjoyed Diablo I the most, then don't hesitate to create articles about the very first game. Even though it may not be the newest game in the series, we still want as much info as possible in our wiki, and that includes all previous games.
- If you are unsure of what to do or how to create a page, search for a few articles on the same topic and see what they look like. You can always view the source code in a wiki and learn from what others have done.
- An edit doesn't have to be massive; if you feel you don't want to create whole articles, then just fixing spelling errors and broken links is enough.

This is especially useful for when the user doesn't quite know what they're looking for, but has a general idea of what categories its found under. Of course, there are other ways of getting around the wiki, as well. The nav links on the left offer the same content that can be found through the portal.
This ensures that, no matter your style of navigation, you'll always get to the info you need.
